Monowire Notes & Trivia
- The mono wire is inspired from the movie Johnny Mnemonic. A gang member early in the movie uses it against Johnny (Keanu Reaves).

"Monowire is now tied to the Blades skill" - got official answer from CDPR tech support after patch 1.5 when I stopped getting Street Brawler XP from it.
having done a playthrough mostly using this here are some thoughts you might find useful:
it will benefit from street brawler skills and perks, use that together with cool to maximize damage and make it pretty obscenely strong at full charge.
at 0% the monowire does NO damage and will just pass through enemies harmlessly, if you find yourself just whiffing a lot its because of that

Monowire has been removed from the Kabuki as of patch 1.2
At least it wasnt there on my new play through

It wasn’t inspired by Johnny Mnemonic (the movie). Mono wire blades were in CP 2020 RPG before the movie, and before that, in the books by William Gibson (Johnny Mnemonic being one of them).

Legendary monowire is not sold by ripperdocs after a certain point

Also benefits from tech some tech perks as well. Such as full charges heal you and 20 engineering skill that increases damage from chargeable weapons.

I find this weapon pretty bad right now. would be amazing if they fixed the hitboxes of it. right now 90% of your hits will just do nothing

2 way to see the charge at which your monowire is:
- There is a nearly invisible number on the bottom left and right of the central HUD/near the crosshair
- The cross hair + in the middle is fully blue when charged to the max, and the blue line reduces as you use the monowire. This one is easy to see.

I can't find the third available cyberware model for the legendary monowire. I thought it could take to batteries but it won't let me equip it.

I found the Monowire to be extremely underwhelming. Even with tons of points in Cool a charged attack from stealth did less than half the hp of an average mook.

Now tell me how come that legendary monowire I found has less damage than rare/epic available at ripdoc ?? (I've picked it up at early stage of the game while running v1.03 and now I'm on v1.04. My assumptions: its because of the patch or level scaling messes? or I had bad luck in rolling stats when I picked it up ??) Anyone else having experienced same stuff ?
