How to Level Up Use Tech type weapons.

Engineering is a Skill in Cyberpunk 2077. Engineering is a skill that is related to the Technical Ability attribute. Skills are but a part of your Character’s build and are strictly linked by your Attributes. That means that you can’t level a skill higher than your attribute level. You will be leveling your Skills by executing various gameplay actions. Some skills can also be enhanced through Cyberware. Meanwhile, other skills can come in useful during dialog, offering responses you wouldn’t be able to pick otherwise.

Engineering Description

  • Related Attribute: Technical Ability
  • This skill can be leveled up by using grenades, by shooting enemies through walls with Tech type weapons in combat, by disabling cameras & turrets, and by disarming mines.
  • The Engineering skill focuses on improving V's handling of Tech weapons.

Engineering Notes & Tips

  • The minefield in the east of the Badlands, see Gig: Dancing On a Minefield, is a great place to gain a boost of Engineering exp.
  • When a fight ends, take the time to turn off all cameras and turrets, if there are any.
  • The Engineering skill level will only go as high as the Technical Ability skill level.
  • Maximizing a skill level to 10 with one out of the twelve skills grants the player with the "Ten Out of Ten" Trophy/Achievement.

        I highly advise you to:

        0. ENGINEERING only seems to get exp from tech weapons if you shoot through walls

        1. Don't crouch while shooting tech guns through walls (it will count as stealth kill)

        2. Get yourself into Combat (!!!!!) be4 you shoot through walls. Otherwise it will count as stealth kill as well

        3. Shoot into enemys Heads seems to give more engineering exp

        4. Shoot from further away

        5. Try to do combo kills through walls after you exposed yourself into Combat mode as fast as you can!

With all this stuff i managed to get like 5400 exp in one Combat with around 10 enemys...it doesnt always work like that but most of the time it does

I've done some testing on Gun Whisperer and here's how things break down as of version 1.06:
Works fine: Omaha pistols, Achilles rifles, Satara double barreled shotguns
Doesn't Work: Kenshin pistols, Quasar revolvers, Burya revolvers
Works, but absolutely ruins: Nekomata snipers (insanely jittery crosshair when aiming)

All iconic weapons should work or not depending on what model gun they are based on. I think Kenshins are the only ones that are "bugged". Quasars will rapidly fire bullets when fully charged as long as you hold down the fire button which conflicts mechanically with this perk (you can't hold down the fire button to simultaneously hold fire AND keep firing). Buryas can't be charged (seems they are "fully charged" every time you fire to compensate for low magazine size). And Nekomata is just bad design so who knows if it will be fixed.

              To get MAX exp:
              1. DONT DO stealth kill (MOST IMPORTANT!)
              2. Kill with tech weapons THROUGH WALLS in the HEAD
              3. kill fast one after another..

              thats all

the handiest way to level engineering is by manually disarming cameras & turrets for earlier leveling.

"Use Tech type weapons" What are tech weapons exactly? Been using the "Tech" (Charged Shot) prefix weapons but doesn't seem to level the tree at all, am I doing it wrong?
